Early Professional Years
Carol graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology. She spent several years as a public school therapist as well as a private clinician.
She invested several years as a Special Education professional followed by 5 years as the director of a private pre and early elementary school. These early years culminated with compliance responsibilities in education for the state of New Jersey and then 6 years as the Executive Director of a state and federally funded county-based child care program. Responsibilities included but were not limited to budget (including federal grants) and fundraising, compliance and regulatory duties, managing a staff of over 100, negotiations with a union.
Mid-Years
A shift to the securities industries occurred in the mid-1980’s, when Carol worked for two real estate syndicators, responsible for broker dealer involvement and due diligence as well as money raise. By the late 1980’s she went to work as the EVP of a small firm that provided due diligence services on syndicators and their investment opportunities. She coordinated the work effort of professionals and wrote reports. She also had a lead role in bringing brokers and syndicators together for professional discussions at quarterly conferences held throughout the US and off shore. In 1991, Carol became an arbitrator for the NASD, continuing until 2008.
Past 16 Years
In 1992, Carol joined PRM Financial Services located in Addison, Texas where she was responsible for the company’s syndication efforts including the broker dealer network. In 1995, she added the human resources responsibility for the company which by then employed 85 people. In 1996, she became one of the two partners in the company and added supervision of the operations group. PRM initiated a balance transfer program and Carol was essential in the banking relationships, training and compliance efforts. Carol joined the Creditors International Division and the Asset Buyers Division of ACA International. She began service on the ABD in 2002 and has served as the Chair of ABD since 2004. Carol left PRM in June 2008 opening ACTS+, a sole proprietorship.
Over the past 40 years Carol has served on numerous non-profit boards including Dallas Habitat for Humanity and as the V.P. of the Habitat International Board of Directors. For 12 years she served on the board of a mutual fund based in California, where she chaired the Audit Committee. Currently, Carol is the President of the Board of Directors for Garland County CASA.
